62 faith institutions from across the world today announced institutional fossil fuel divestment comitments, sending a signal to negotiators at the UN climate summit in Brazil on the urgent need for fossil fuel phase out.
Noting the broad range of health harms, environmental destruction and social justice violations to society from fossil fuel expansion, Germany, Dr. Jörg Mayer, Chair of AKI (a partnership of church investment managers), said: “Investing money does not mean abdicating responsibility”
